While many of us spent our Christmas holidays relaxing, Ryan Muller spent the last two weeks of his holidays as a student at the Australian Science Olympiad Physics Summer School. Ryan travelled to Melbourne, along with 20 of the top physics students in Australia, to undertake a course which covers most of first year university physics. Ryan was selected to attend the summer school after achieving a High Distinction in the National Selection exam. This exam is taken by more that 1000 students Australia wide. The top 5 students from the summer school will travel to Mexico in June to represent Australia in the International Physics Olympiad.
Engineers Australia Gladstone Local Group as well as Toolooa P&C committee has recognised Ryan’s great achievements so far with a grant to assist with the financial requirements of attending the school. Ryan is pictured below with Alan Whitfield, Kris Zahn from Engineers Australia and Dave Manttan, the Executive Schools Director. |
