Fishing Clinic PDF Print E-mail

On Saturday the 30th of May, 8 students from Toolooa and 3 from Miriam Vale State School went fishing at 12 Mile Creek as part of the “Youth Tag and Release Clinic” hosted by the Gladstone Branch of the Australian National Sport fishing Association (ANSA). While they were there students learnt about tag & release techniques, safe handling of fish, benefits of tagging, importance of research into fish stocks, climate change and its affects on our future and the history of 12 Mile Lagoon System. All found it interesting and informative. A few students even caught a barramundi while they were out there.
