One of our Year 10 Students working with Fredriksen Maclean & Associates Consulting Surveyors.
Over ninety Yr 10 students took the opportunity to do work experience for a week at a number of businesses across Gladstone. Work experience provided an excellent opportunity for students to get a taste of the real world of work. For some, the 6am starts or 5pm finishes were a massive change to the late starts and early finishes of a typical school day. It was great to see all of our students receive excellent feedback from their host employers.
I would like to congratulate our Yr 10s for surviving the week and thank them for once again promoting a positive image of our school to the business community. Thank you also to the many parents for transporting students to and from work experience, at times outside their normal routines. I would like to thank the staff who took time out from their busy days to visit students at work experience. My appreciation also goes to SAIN for the marvellous efforts in finding places for our students, despite the current challenging economic climate. A reminder that Yr 10 students are able to undertake work experience in Term 3 (19-23 October) and in the first two weeks of the Christmas break.
