We have been on safari here in the Library. Doris, our intrepid adventurer, has been camping out and studying the wildlife, especially the tigers. During breaks many students took the opportunity to add a piece or two to the elephant wild animal puzzle. It proved to be a very testing puzzle as many pieces were a similar colour and shape.
Two competitions were run as part of our Book Safari – “What are the names behind these literary initials?” and “Whose business is it?”, which drew on the picture book The Story of the Little Mole who knew it was None of his Business. Tiffany Mison and Karrisa Hussey were our two winners. Shaun Tan’s Tales from Outer Suburbia was named Book of the Year for Older Readers while Into the White Silence by Anthony Eaton and A Rose for the ANZAC Boys by Jackie French were named Honour Books for Older Readers. All of these books are well worth reading.
