BMX Riders Represent Australia

BMX Riders Represent Australia.
Mitchell Hannan (below) and Fraser Hannan (right), students of Toolooa State High School, have recently represented Australia in BMX racing in Belgium, racing in the 14 year and 12 year categories respectively.
After many months of rigorous training it was off to race at the BMX World Championships being held at Zolder, Belgium, along with over 3100 other competitors from 46 countries from all over the world.
They both performed well against very tough opposition, especially from the European competitors. Fraser did particularly well and was able to progress as far as quarter finals in the 24 inch class.
This was a fantastic experience for both Mitchell and Fraser, being able to compete against the world’s best, and get an insight into competition at the highest level of the sport.
As well the event was a great opportunity to see all the world’s elite level riders compete, including Australia’s own Caroline Buchanan and Sam Willoughby.
They also made some great new friendships with riders from around the world. BMX racing is a great sport for a healthy life. Everyone in the family can get involved and there are opportunities to travel to some great locations.
Next on the big event list is the Queensland State Titles being held in Cairns in the September school holidays. Mitchell and Fraser can’t wait.
On behalf of everybody at Toolooa State High School, we would like to Congratulate Mitchell and Fraser on their achievements so far, and we would like to wish them all the best for all future competitions, as well as the competition in September.
