The Botanic to Bridge is a fantastic event that is currently in its 8th year.
I strongly encourage all Toolooa students and their families to get behind this great local event and in the process help raise some money for Toolooa SHS.
Registrations Open – Now!
Registrations Close – Thursday 17th August 2017 at 9am
Event Day – Sunday 20th August 2017
The Botanic to Bridge is a fantastic event which encourages families to embrace healthy and active lifestyles, and provides an opportunity to invest funds into our schools and community. Over the past six years, Botanic to Bridge has contributed many $1000 into our regional schools, funding sport and recreation equipment and initiatives. Student participation ensures that funding is directed to our school. Students can register as individuals, in a team, or as part of a family registration. A family registration consists of up to five people (two adults and up to three school age children). Families with more than three children or two adults will need to register additional members individually.
Children four years and under are free. If they are not travelling in a pram they will need to be registered.

Note:  When registering as a family or in a team, all members must compete in the same event, either the 3km or 8km. Family and team entries cannot be split across the two events.
Team Entries
Students and teachers can also enter as part of a team entry, be it with class mates or as part of a mixed team including family and friends.
The registration fee for school aged children is $10, whether entering as an individual or as part of a team. The entire $10 registration fee for children is returned to Toolooa SHS.
Parents can nominate Toolooa SHS to ensure $5 from their adult registration is returned to the school.   Similarly, teachers and staff who wish their registration fee to be directed toToolooa SHS can nominate the school in a similar way to parents. If registering as a family, it is important that each individual person nominates Toolooa SHS when registering, to ensure this payment can be directed to our school.
As we have done over the past few years, we once again are trying to add a little more encouragement to persuade our students to enter this year’s event.
Mr Goltz has agreed to continue the promise of rewarding some of our students who compete through a random prize draw.
So get online at and register to compete in one of this year’s events.
Botanic to Bridge
Have you registered?
Got your running shoes ready?
Done any training?
Well time is quickly running out.
Remember this is a great opportunity to raise some much needed funds for our school whilst at the same time supporting a great local initiative.
As with previous years we are trying to encourage as many Toolooa students to take part as possible and as such Mr Goltz is prepared to reward some of our students for their participation.
This year we are moving away from movie tickets and are offering the following prizes:
1st Toolooa SHS 3km runner = $20 tuckshop voucher
1st Toolooa SHS 8km runner = $20 tuckshop voucher
4 random 3km participants = $10 tuckshop voucher each.
4 random 8km participants = $10 tuckshop voucher each.
So you don’t have to run. Just take part and you could walk away with a prize.
Remember at the end of the day we want to have the highest student participation of any school in the district or in other words we want to beat Gladstone State High School.
So go to and do your part to support our great school.
For anyone interested in a bit of training prior to the event remember Gladstone Road Runners hold a 2km and 5km run/jog every Thursday. This term they meet at the far end (past the waterfall) of East Shores. Be there to register at 5:15pm for a 5:30 start. Cost is a $2 coin. For more details see Mr Hage.
