Congratulations To Cassandra Paddick For Obtaining The 2015 Golding Visual Arts Bursary.
The Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum Society is delighted to announce Cassandra Paddick as the winner of the 2015 Golding Visual Arts Bursary.
Cassandra Paddick is a 20 year old student who completed her secondary education at Toolooa State High School in 2012. She achieved impressive results with subject Awards in Art, Creative Writing, Dance and received the Senior Arts / English Award.
Enrolled in the Bachelor of Fine Arts - Film, Television and New Media course at Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane, Cassandra's career objective is to gain her University degree to become a professionally trained film maker.
Gallery & Museum Society President, Bruce Hunt spoke delightedly of this year’s Bursary winner. "Cassandra is an exceptional recipient for 2015," he said.
"Her results have been outstanding and she impressed the interview panel with her ability to speak eloquently and fluently with great enthusiasm about her chosen field."
The Bursary has been established with the generous support of late Society patron, Mr Cyril Golding (1920-2012), to assist students from the Gladstone, Port Curtis and Callide Valley region of Central Queensland in pursuing tertiary studies in all aspects of Visual Arts. The Bursary is carried on now by his widow, Shirley Golding and the members of the Gallery & Museum Society, providing $2000 per year for the 3 years of a Bachelor degree and is awarded annually to a student from the local area going on to study art at a tertiary level.
