From the Deputy’s Desk— Danielle Willard

Wow, what a busy six months. Year 11 and 12 reports are currently being printed and they will be posted late this week or early next week. Year 7-10 reports will be posted at the end of week 1 or start of week 2 in term 3. Please take the time to read the reports and to talk with your children about their reports. Celebrate the hard work with your children and talk with them about what their goals might be for Semester 2. If they have had some difficulty with a subject area, talk with them about what they might be able to do differently next term.

This term students have had the opportunity to excel and show their skills in many areas. This week we have our attendance celebrations. There have been a large number of students in each year level whose attendance sits at or above 98%. This means that have had less than two days off each term. This is a fabulous achievement. The year 9 and 10 attendance celebration will see over 140 students being rewarded for being at school.

Last week the year 10 students from the performing arts entertained their parents and friends. From all accounts it was a fabulous evening. On Thursday we have our instrumental music students participating in a tour around the local primary schools. These are always exciting events for students to participate in. Well done to all of our performing arts and instrumental music students and staff. All of the extra effort and hard work that you put in certainly pays off.

Over the last two weeks we have had students participating in field event trials for our athletics carnivals. Students are trying their hardest and producing some amazing results. It is great to see the large level of participation in these events. Students from all year levels are well represented.

On the academic front I have had the privilege of walking through our classrooms and also the library. Currently in the library we have a display from our year History students. The students had to create an interactive museum piece explaining an aspect of popular culture. The student work is fantastic.

Have a fantastic break and stay safe.

Cheers
Mrs Danielle Willard
