I trust that your child has settled-in to the 2018 school year and that they are taking full advantage of everything that our school has to offer. We’ve got lots of activities and events in our school calendar for our students to get involved with, from sports, to leadership, to academic endeavours. Here is a list of just a few things on offer to students at Toolooa in term one:
  • Maths Tutoring – Offered three afternoons per week; speak to your child’s maths teacher for further info
  • Port Curtis & Capricornia sports trials – Many sports trials coming up; see Mr Miller in the HPE staffroom for details and permission forms
Swimming Carnival – Thursday 15th February, students to wear sun-smart Careport colours
  • Scene Project – A drama club run during some lunch breaks; see Miss Roobottom or Miss Mehrton-Johnson for details
  • Singing Club – An exciting new opportunity for singers of all ability levels (no auditions required!); see Mr Clarke in the music room for information
  • Junior Secondary Leadership – Applications are closed as of this issue printing; Mrs Shonhan and I are shortlisting and interviewing applicants very soon (leaders announced in the coming weeks)
Finally - in addition to these activities - our Year 7 Meet & Greet Evening is coming-up on the 22nd of this month.
Families of Year 7 students will be invited to attend the school for a free BBQ and a casual chat with the teachers.
Information will be sent home shortly. Please remember to RSVP for catering purposes.
