As the term draws to a close, we have the opportunity to reflect on the successes of the past ten weeks.

The Smith Family Fundraiser
Our amazing school community has so far raised $4000 towards this incredibly worthy cause. This total has come from in-school fundraising, donation tins, raffles, community donations, and a rather large donation from MP Glenn Butcher. It’s events like this that truly showcase the spirit of Toolooa SHS. Our students, staff, parents and community have done absolutely everything they could to raise as much money as possible for this charity. Stay tuned for more!

Great Academic Results
We are waiting on semester one report cards to be finalised, but we have received anecdotal information indicating that our students have performed very well again this semester. Students have been working hard, staying organised and seeking feedback in order to perform at their absolute best. Please continue encouraging your child to stay on top of their study so that they’re reaching their full potential.

Sports
This term, we had our athletics carnival (another Elliott win!) and we’ve had a busy term of PC and CAP trials. At this point, we have had over 60 students selected into Port Curtis sides, and well over 20 into Capricornia teams. This is well above average and we’re very proud of our students who have trialled.

Extra-Curricular Opportunities
Between STEM Squad, Toolooa’s Got Talent, Interact, Junior and Senior Leadership, and all the other extra-curricular options, our kids are offered a multitude of opportunities at Toolooa and they’ve been busy this term. We are so proud of our students getting involved and making the most of their high school years.

I wish everyone a safe and relaxing break. Looking forward to welcoming everyone back after the holidays!
