Our Priceless Past – A Great Success
During the last two days of term two, just over 20 talented Junior Secondary students were invited to participate in ‘Our Priceless Past’ – a project run in conjunction with the Gladstone Regional Art Gallery. Throughout the two days, the students were paired-up with long-standing Gladstone locals with the task of interviewing, writing a biographical article and taking photographs.
As always, Toolooa SHS was represented well and did the school proud. Dianna Paddick, Cultural Projects Supervisor at the gallery, was particularly impressed with the group, saying they presented themselves beautifully and that the interview day was a huge success; the students are an amazing credit to the school. Jane MacDonald from The Gladstone Observer told Dianna that she was impressed with the maturity of the writing from the students.  Jane said that she was incredibly impressed and enjoyed her time with the students.
The articles are now with The Gladstone Observer awaiting printing. We are looking forward to seeing the finished products when they are released on the 20th of August. Thank-you to our wonderful year seven teachers, Miss Bird and Mrs McWhirter, for taking this extraordinary group of students. Congratulations to all involved; it is fabulous to see Toolooa students out in the community showing Gladstone just how impressive they are!
