Raising Awareness for
Domestic and Family Violence Month
Every May, communities across Australia come together to raise awareness for Domestic and Family Violence. Year 9 students, Kianne Harris and Robbie Smith, are proud youth representatives for the Gladstone Co-Ordinated Community Response to Domestic Violence group (CCRDFV). Through their roles, Kianne and Robbie assist with organising initiatives such as the annual ‘Paint the Town Purple’ program. They both enjoy being a part of this group as it provides them with an opportunity to help others, as well as spend time with their family and friends that also contribute to the cause. If you would like to know how you can help raise awareness, please speak to either Kianne or Robbie. Thank you, Kianne and Robbie, for your hard work and commitment to such an important community cause.

BIEEC Girls STEM Camp 2019
Congratulations to Lucy, Samantha, Jannali, Taylah, Darcy and Sarah-Jane for securing a place in the Boyne Island Environmental Education Centre’s 2019 Girls STEM Camp. These six year 9 students will attend the 5 day camp in week 3 of Term 3. The focus of this year’s camp is ‘Green STEM’ which looks at how Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths can solve environmental problems and issues. Well done, girls! We look forward to hearing all about it during Term 3.
