Celebrating Success
– 2018 Graduate Jack McArtney
As each November rolls around our Indigenous Support Team bursts with pride. Happy that our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Year 12’s have made it through and graduating with their Queensland Certificate of Education. After years of schooling these fine young men and women have given themselves the best possible start to adulthood and make a positive contribution in their community. The 2018 Year 12 cohort was one of our largest with all 17 students graduating. We are so very happy that they stay in touch and let us know how they are travelling.
Over the past six months we have been on a journey with former student Jack McArtney.
We have followed his many youi sessions, formal interview, psychological and physical testing, enlistment , eleven weeks of training and finally last week his graduation ceremony.
Jack is now officially a serving member of the Royal Australian Navy, based on the HMAS Cerberus.
Congratulations Jack and the McArtney Family.
