GPC Talent Today, Talent Tomorrow Bursary Presentations

In 2013, Gladstone Ports Corporation (GPC) as part of its Reconciliation Action Plan under ‘Increasing Opportunities’ introduced a new bursary to be awarded to Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander and Australian South Sea Islander students that are currently enrolled and attending secondary schools in the Gladstone Region.

This years’ applications were of a very high standard, with students being assessed on their responses addressing Career Aspirations, Attitude, Attendance, Academic Commitment and Connection to Culture.

On Monday 20th November, six Toolooa High School students were officially awarded ‘Talent Today, Talent Tomorrow Bursaries’.

The presentation was hosted by GPC’s Community Relations Officer Lee-ann Dudley and Indigenous Mentor Melissa Alberts.

Chief Executive Officer Peter O’Sullivan presented each award and offered words of wisdom and congratulations to the student group and attending family members.
