Swimming Carnival

Earlier this week we held our annual swimming carnival. It was fantastic to see so many students competing to the best of their ability in their house colours. Despite the heat, the students’ attitude and behaviour was excellent, as was their competiveness. At the end of the day we announced the age champions and overall care port winner. Our Age Champions Were:

Congratulations To All Our Age Champions This Year!

Following the age champions announcement, we then moved on to the overall care port winner. Whilst the competition was fierce in most races, the overall winner was never in doubt. Elliott got into the lead early and no care port was able to catch up. The overall care port results can be seen below:

Congratulations Elliott!

Cross Country / Fun Run
Preparations are now underway for our cross country which will be held on the last day of the term (Friday 5th April). The event is scheduled to be held from 2nd Break until the end of the day. The course requires students to run around the oval, along Phillip St & Glenlyon St and back through the school grounds. A water bottle and hat are both highly recommended.

In addition to the cross country, we also hold our annual fun run sponsorship event. This enables us to raise funds to purchase new sporting equipment such as jerseys for our interschool sports teams. Forms will be going out to students over the course of next week through form rolls. Students who raise money are eligible for prizes dependant on the amount raised. We also give one point for every dollar raised to the students care port. These points are then added to the total points made by the competitors on the day to work out the overall care port winner (Curtis, Elliott, Heron or Keppel). Money and forms are due back to the PE department by Friday 29th March.
