Principal’s Piece

Shrek the Musical
On Monday the Gladstone Entertainment and Convention Centre celebrated the opening of Shrek the Musical and I would like to express just how proud we are of the achievements from the students of Toolooa. This week the students have excelled, they have delivered seamless performances and continue to improve with each show. The show’s success is a true reflection of the hard work, dedication, and hours the cast members have contributed since last year. This is certainly a show that will be talked about for some time to come.
Focus On Building Teaching Skills
In many schools, the notion of having a Head of Department, a DP or the Principal in your classroom may be very challenging for teachers. In our school however we are receiving very positive responses about our teacher feedback process. We have great teachers in our school and with continuing guidance and feedback, we will continue to see improvement in our teaching and in our students’ learning.
Jumpers and ‘Cold Weather Clothes’
Just reminding parents that the school jacket, the senior jersey or a plain black jumper are the only suitable options for our students with the cooler weather approaching. These can be matched with plain black tracksuit pants or plain black dress pants; if the shorts or skirt are not warm enough. Our school uniform is an important part of school culture of high expectations and we value the pride that our students show when they wear their full uniform.
Upcoming Assessment
Many of our students are currently undertaking assessment or will very shortly. We encourage our parents to speak to their children about what they have coming up and about whether they are prepared. Assessment time, can at times be stressful, however with a strong plan involving appropriate revision time and/or time allocated to work on assignments, the stress can be reduced. Our focus will continue to be on supporting our students to achieve their very best and we encourage our parents to make contact with our teachers if you have concerns.
Please Remember That:
