2018 Sports Awards:
Last Wednesday we held our annual sports awards night at the Yaralla Sports Club. It was a fantastic evening that allowed all coaches, parents and students to celebrate the achievements of our young sporting stars. This year we recognised students that achieved success in the following categories; Age Champion, Best & Fairest, Port Curtis, Capricornia and Queensland representatives and our Junior and Senior Sportsperson of the Year Awards.

Please see page 7 of this newsletter for all the details of our tremendous athletes.

Year 12 Graduation Breakfast and Last Week Activities
The opportunity for our students, families and teachers to come together and share breakfast as a culmination of 12 years of formalised schooling is a wonderful tradition at Toolooa State High School. A full house, great food, great company and a chance to hear from our students and staff which was a genuinely lovely morning. The last week activities and our Toolooa State High School year 12 group could not have had a better send off! Our year 12 coordinator, Mrs Natasha Read has been instrumental in keeping our students on track this year and organised a memorable last week for our students. As always, Natasha has done a fantastic job.

Firstly, I would like to thank all parents and caregivers for attending the Graduation Breakfast for the Class of 2018. What a special time in the lives of a fantastic group of young men and women, and to have family by their sides collecting their certificate – very special. I would also like to thank Mrs Natasha Read for her contribution to the breakfast, and for liaising with the GECC and organising a fantastic experience for all that attended, along with Amanda Patzwald for her contribution with the speeches on the morning. The graduation breakfast is a time for students to reflect on the time they spent during their schooling lives and look forward to their time ahead. The morning ran smoothly – which is a credit to the staff at GECC. I would personally like to thank the Class of 2018 for their commitment throughout 2018 and wish them all the best in their future endeavours. Set your goals and reach your potential. You will be missed class of 2018. Good luck for all your endeavours in 2019 and your future.

Senior Formal
What a fabulous night of celebrations. Our students looked incredible and acted impressively; lots of dancing, conversations, hugs, selfies, memories made, speeches, photos, awards, and some tears—the formal had it all and will be one to be remembered. Our staff member; Katrina Roobottom delivered an inspiring night (Down the Rabbit Hole) and needs to be recognised for her commitment and effort to pull off this amazing night. Also, a special thanks to Ellen Kean & Lindy Taylor for assisting Katrina and making it such a memorable event.

Congratulations Mark Thomas & Lynda Ehrke-Malone
I would like to congratulate Mr Mark Thomas who has been permanently appointed to Toolooa SHS as Deputy Principal (Senior Schooling). Mr Thomas thoroughly deserves his appointment and I look forward to having him as a permanent member of the administration team as of 2019. In addition, I would also like to congratulate Mrs Lynda Ehrke-Malone who will continue in the role as acting HOSeS while Mrs Maree Dwyer continues in her acting position as Autism Coach for the Central Queensland region.
