EQIP Engineering Skills Centre Graduation
Congratulations to the Yr 12 students who graduated from the EESC on Thursday 12th November. Well done to this outstanding group of students!
Gerrad Bannan received the EESC Student of the Year Award.
Congratulations Gerrad!
The ceremony also included a farewell to Peter Hammett, EESC teacher, who retires at the end of this year. He will be missed.
Peter Hammett Retires
EQIP Engineering Skills Centre (EESC) teacher Peter Hammett retires at the end of 2015. He will be greatly missed by the students as well as his fellow staff members, Derek Horton and Kelly Hixon. Peter has made an outstanding contribution to education throughout his career with Education Queensland, and we wish him all the best for the future. Peter's contribution to the EESC was recognised at the recent EESC Yr 12 Graduation ceremony.
Peter graduated Teachers' College in 1978. His first posting was to Gladstone State High School, where he taught in 1979 and 1980.
1981 saw Peter teaching at Theodore SHS, before returning to Gladstone to teach at Toolooa SHS in 1982. In 1983 Pete did a semester at Mt Larcom SS before returning to Toolooa SHS. He remained at Toolooa until 2003 when he moved over to the EESC which was then known as the Gladstone Schools Engineering Skills Centre (GSESC). Peter, with his wife Donna, will be joining the Grey Nomads, heading first to Tasmania in early 2016.
Peter has two daughters, Kate and Jody, and recently became a grandfather for the first time when Kate had a baby daughter.

Senior Room Art Work
Yr 11 students, Chloe Murray, Amy Rose, Jazzy Campbell and Jerome Ellis, collaborated to design this vibrant art work for the Senior Room. Chloe and Amy created the design, with the other students assisting with painting.
Thank you for this fantastic art work for the Senior Room - it really brightens up the room.
It is awesome to be able to display student art work in our senior students' space, the Senior Room.
