Work Experience Applications
Work experience applications for Blocks 7 (2/12 to 6/12) & 8 (9/12 to 13/12) have closed as of Friday 18/10/2019.

The only exception to this is a SELF-PLACEMENT applications for Blocks 7 & 8.
Self-placement applications only will close Thursday 6 November 3pm.

Self-placement applications is where the student has sourced their own work experience host and the host has agreed on this.  Those details need to be filled out in the self-placement area on the right hand side of the work experience application form.

Please ensure before submitting a self-placement application that you have spoken directly to the host and the host has agreed to this placement.

Once the host has agreed please fill out a work experience form and pay your $40 at the school office. This form then can be given to Tracey in the Senior Room for submission.
If you are unsure of anything please see Tracey in the Senior Room or phone 49714333.

White Card Training
Central Queensland University (CQU) will be conducting two White Card Construction courses at Toolooa State High School in Week 10 this term. Year 9 (provided they are fifteen years of age or older by the course date), Year 10 and Year 11 students are eligible to complete this course.

Before anyone can work on an Australian construction site, they must have attained White Card accreditation.  If your son/daughter is considering work experience with a large industry, or a small business which contracts to large industry, it is strongly recommended that they complete this course. A significant number of work experience providers in Gladstone will only accept students for work experience who have their white card.

****Application forms and information letters can be collected from the Senior Room****

Thankyou Mark Spearing
Thank you to Mark Spearing from LJ Hooker Gladstone who presented to our Year 12 students about renting in Education for Life recently. Mark covered a wide range of topics about renting, including what happens when someone damages a rental property, how to manage repairs and the legalities around sharing a rental. Thank you to Mark for giving up his time for our students.
