Free Apprenticeships For Under 21s
The Queensland Government is increasing support for young Queenslanders up to the age of 21 by providing access to fully subsidised training across 139 priority apprenticeship or traineeship qualifications.
Free apprenticeships for under 21s will cover the cost of training for apprentices and trainees who commence or are undertaking a priority apprenticeship or traineeship qualification from 1 July 2019 to 30 June 2023.
Qualifications on offer include traditional trade areas such as electrical, plumbing and engineering as well as non-trade areas such as healthcare, hospitality and early childhood.
Once you have decided which apprenticeship or traineeship you want to do, you will need to find an employer to give you a job. You can be employed directly by a business or through a group training organisation.
Free means the Queensland Government will cover the full cost of training in the listed priority qualifications, so eligible students don't contribute to training fees. However, apprentices and trainees may incur related costs such as uniform and resource costs.

Included in the letter is the link for the Student Booking System (SOBS) - this is where parents and guardians need to book interview days and times with the allocated case manager. (Link:
We strongly encourage all parents and guardians to attend these interviews. They are a vital part of ensuring our students are on the right pathway in Years 11 and 12, as well as providing a comprehensive overview of the final two years of schooling at Toolooa SHS.
If you have any questions or need any further information after you have received your letter, please feel free to contact Natalie Jounquay (Head of Senior Schooling) on 49714 333.
