Swimming Carnival

Congratulations Toolooa.  What a performance! The 2013 swimming carnival was a great success!
The day started out with a whole school parade. Students went to great lengths to show their Careport colours and support.  Looking around the shelter, the once uniformed student body of Toolooa had transformed into a mass of colour and excitement.
Everywhere you looked there was red, blue, green and yellow mixing together as the excitement started to build for the day ahead. It was great to see that the friendly rivalry between the Careports didn’t end with the students as teachers also made it clear which Careport they belonged to.
Throughout the day first place varied, but in the end it came down to student participation and relay team points. Heat after heat and final after final, our tough competitors swam proudly for their Careports. At the end of the day eleven swimmers stood out from the rest, our ‘Age Champions’ for 2013.  Although the large majority of Champions came from Curtis it was evident that participation was the key to Heron’s success on the day.

Congratulations to all of our ‘Age Champions’ for 2013. Overall, the day was a huge success.  The best thing to come out of the event was everyone having fun and participating. Congratulations to those students who got involved. A big thank you must go out to the teachers involved and the PE department for organising the day.
