Swimming Carnival

3/03/2016
Swimming Carnival

Yesterday, Toolooa held its annual swimming carnival and a fun day was had by all despite the rain.

The day commenced with a school parade in which all students were keen to express their overwhelming support for their Careports. This could be seen through the vibrant colours and costumes worn including suits, morph suits and even a few teletubbies!

The day of events ran smoothly with excellent participation from all age groups and this led to a high scoring carnival through participation points. I would like to say that it was difficult to predict the overall house standings throughout the day but one careport clearly trained for the event. The training must have been good as three records were broken on the day!

AGE GROUP STUDENT  EVENT   NEW RECORD
U13  Georgie Bell 50m Butterfly 35.30sec
U12  Sean Hunt 50m Freestyle 38.88sec
U12  Sean Hunt Breaststroke 53.08sec

At the end of the day there were twelve swimmers that stood out from the rest, our ‘Age Champions’ for 2016. The following students were recognised as our age champions for 2016 due to the outstanding effort in the pool. Congratulations to all of our ‘Age Champions’ for 2016. Overall, the day was a great success which could be seen through the strong participation numbers and enjoyment throughout the day. Congratulations to those students who got involved. A big thank you must go out to the teachers involved and the PE department for organising the day.
