Teachers vs Students Volleyball Game

Teachers vs Students Volleyball Game
Throughout the year, the Senior Executive Leadership Team takes part in a number of community events as well as organising and running our own events within the school. On Thursday the 17th of August, we ran a Teachers vs Students volleyball game. Held in the shelter at second break, the game was free to watch and encouraged school spirit (as well as a bit of healthy competition between teachers and students). The leaders, with the help of Mr Muller also ran a sausage sizzle to help fund future projects. Both staff and students ended up showing their support on the day; the HPE, English and Technology staff rooms stepped up and formed a team each, as well as 24 students from a range of grades, who formed 4 teams. Two courts were set up in the shelter while the crowd filled up the rest of the space, even spilling out the doors. In the end, the highest scoring student team averaged at 6 points per 3 minute game, while the winning teacher team averaged at 7 points. At the next full school parade, it was announced that the English teachers had won the competition (with the help of some bribes) but they definitely deserved it, showing up enthusiastically in matching outfits complete with jerseys, headbands and war paint. We’d like to say a huge thanks to all who gave their time and helped out on the day, making the event such a success. Maybe next time the students will be able to prove that they are the true champions.
