Cross Country:
On Tuesday 12th April (Term Two, Week One), students will be involved in our annual cross country. This event will require students to run either 4 or 5km depending on the age they are turning in 2016. In addition to this, we will be having our annual run-a-thon fundraiser which raises funds for sporting equipment that can be used by students in their school sporting endeavours. For example, last year we were able to raise approximately $1400 which was used to purchase jerseys for our year 7 rugby league teams in 2016.

I look forward to another successful fundraiser and cross country again this year!

Interschool Sport:
This term we have had a number of students compete in interschool sporting competitions including cricket, golf and volleyball. The behaviour and effort displayed by all students throughout these competitions has been of a very high standard. It has also been great to see the number of students involved and the level of enjoyment that the students have had. Whilst none of these teams won their competitions, it was great to see such excellent sportsmanship shown throughout the events. In particular I would like to mention the Year 7/8 Mixed Volleyball team who managed to make the semi-finals despite playing with only five players. This was a fantastic achievement that deserved to be recognised.

Next term there will be an interschool Rugby League and Netball competition which I am sure will be just as successful as we already have a number of students who have expressed interest in playing!

Yours in Sport,
Matthew Miller
