Year 12 EBITS Tourism Students

Year 12 EBITS Tourism Students
Thursday 23 February, a P&O Cruise Ship pulled into Gladstone Harbour, with 2,000 passengers disembarking to the friendly “Welcome to Gladstone” chant from 20 Year 12 EBITS Tourism students.  They handed out information bags, maps, answered questions and offered umbrellas for shade, while visitors walked through the ‘Feast on East’ markets.
An option for visitors and locals to East Shores, is to board the decommissioned HMAS Gladstone and have a guided tour. As volunteers, we were offered this chance to experience this wonderful piece of history and imagine life at sea.
Following their P&O duties, students visited the Gladstone Information Centre at the Marina and had a talk about the Tourism industry from CEO GAPDL, Daryl Branthwaite.
