We’ve now passed the half way mark of the term – that means just over a month and we’ll be on holidays again! Now would be a fantastic time for parents to review assessment calendars with their children and start getting organised for a very busy period of time. Students are generally far more successful if they can submit a high-quality, full draft on the appropriate submission date so that they can get the best feedback from their teachers and action it is required. Think about how you can support your child with getting/staying organised – perhaps it’s a calendar on the fridge, maybe they can save dates into their phone/device… teachers will continue to remind students at school to try assist with this also.
Transitions are still going full-steam-ahead, with both Year 6 into 7 information sessions now complete; Year 10 into 11 SET-Plan meetings in full-swing, and ‘next step’ meetings taking place for senior ATAR students. If you have any questions about your child’s transition, please don’t hesitate to give us a call.
I’d like to acknowledge the work of our Junior Secondary Leadership Team, who have gone above-and-beyond to support the school community again this term. Because of COVID-19 restrictions, we’ve had to host two separate Year 6 into 7 information sessions, each socially distanced and capped at 100 people. Our leaders have done a fantastic job of setting up, assisting with hosting, and welcoming new families into our school. Huge thanks to the leaders, as well as Mr Capill and Mr O’Connor!
