From The Deputy
With Jess Batey
We have had an enormous school year, and I know that everyone is ready for a relaxing holiday. Before we clock-off for the year, I’d like to acknowledge the hard work, dedication and incredible achievements of our students and staff this year.
2019 has been one of our most successful years on record. Some of the highlights include:
The establishment of our extremely successful STEM Squad, and all the associated programs
First, second and third place in the QGC Future Makers Competition
Outstanding results in the Gladstone Eisteddfod
Toolooa Arts Showcase
Success at QAMT Competition
Toolooa students representing at state and national levels in their chosen sports
Student of the Year – Kynan Elliott – with his incredible and diverse range of achievements
Successful BYOD transition year
Recognised as the most improved high school across 5 years for NAPLAN performance
I have absolutely no doubt that 2020 will be just as exciting, as we continue to build upon the successes of our previous years. I’m particularly looking forward to our timetable change in 2020, which will see our teaching staff working towards quality-assuring our curriculum and assessment tasks, in order to continue seeing fantastic outcomes for our students.
I wish all our families a safe and relaxing break. Looking forward to seeing over 1000 smiling faces back with us after the holidays.
