Each year Reconciliation Week is celebrated from 27th May – 3rd June and is a time for all Australians to learn about the shared achievements, history and cultures that contribute to Reconciliation. This year’s theme Be Brave. Make Change. is asking everyone to be brave and make small changes in their daily lives. Collectively, the contributions of individuals, families, communities, organisations and government with create change to benefit all Australians. The colourful posters presented by Reconciliation Australia depict bold and brave characters working for a just and equal society and act as a reminder that reconciliation is everyone’s business. Toolooa State High School would like to extend the invitation to our students, staff, parents and the wider community to reflect on how they can make changes in their lives to contribute to equality and reconciliation. The Indigenous Support Team are hosting multiple events throughout the week to encourage the school community to be involved including a whole school colouring in competition with prizes to be won and a teacher/student afternoon tea.
