From The Deputy
With Jess Batey
I had the pleasure of being part of our 2021 Awards’ Night last Thursday, for both our junior and senior ceremonies. Each year, I am so blown away by the calibre of our students, both in terms of their academic performance and their conduct. It’s hard to believe that these kids are able to fit so much talent into this school of ours! I’m sure that everyone who attended was equally impressed. I’d like to publicly thank all those who attended, including students, staff, families and special guests. I have received professional photos from the evening, which I will be able to share with families upon request.
In addition to the Awards Ceremonies, we will be hosting Junior and Senior Parades next week, in which Gold Awards will be presented for term 3 (year 7 – 10 only). Following that, we will present Silver Awards on Year Level Parades in the coming weeks. It’s so wonderful to have the opportunity to celebrate the hard work and achievements of our students.
As we draw closer to the end of the year, I’d like to remind our families about the alternative program that we run for our Year 7, 8 and 9 students in weeks 9 and 10 of this term. During this time, students will finish assessment, engage in learning rotations, have a pool day, and have the opportunity to meet staff that they may not have before. Please check your child’s assessment calendar to ensure you know when everything is due, and allow yourself to support them in being as organised as possible.
