Lions Youth of the Year
Congratulations to Georgia Staines, one of our 2021 School Captains, who won the Gladstone Lions Youth of the Year Public Speaking section and was also the Overall Winner on the weekend. Both Drishti and Georgia, our 2021 School Captains, competed in this on Saturday 27 February. We are really proud of both Georgia and Drishti for their amazing efforts.
Lions Youth of the Year is designed to encourage, foster and develop leadership in conjunction with other citizenship qualities in our youth, at the age when they are about to enter the fields of employment or higher education, and provides students with the incentive to pay greater attention to the general qualities, so vital in developing our youths into first class citizens. The qualities sought, apart from academic attainments are those of leadership, personality, sportsmanship, public speaking and good citizenship.
Georgia now moves onto the next level of the competition. We are sure she will do a great job representing Toolooa SHS.
