Containers for Change
Containers For Change Our Junior Leaders are proudly making a difference in our school community by driving the collection of containers around our school. The containers are being recycled and all money collected is going towards reducing tuckshop prices for our students. Thank you to our incredible P&C for their support of this initiative and thank you to our school community for jumping on board and doing their bit to care for our environment. In our first week of collection we filled a 360L bin of containers!
Junior Leaders – Environmental Group

As suspected, many of the debris items found at the schools related to tuck shop and lunch box litter. The team at Clearwater Group have custom built a display tube for each of the schools, which will be filled with the debris collected during LEAP.
The most common items collected were confectionery (n=106), straw wrappers (n=59), foil (n=37) and soft plastic film remnants (n=29) respectively. Both of the litter traps were located within the school grounds, and had a combined total litter of 335 items. There was more debris found within cycle 2 when compared to cycle 1.
The idea is that this display piece will become an education tool for current and future students.
