Heroes in Health Program.
Tom Staines has spent two days participating in the Heroes in Health Program, a joint collaboration between JCU and the Mater Hospital. We hope he had an informative and enjoyable time!
This year students got to tour the operating theatres and maternity ward (they all got to see a placenta), witnessed a procedure in the Cath Lab, participated in a Pharmacy activity and did CPR and suturing. Students visited the Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy wards and were involved in hands on activities to understand what these professionals do. Students also listened to a wide range of health professionals talking about their roles in the hospital and their career journeys so far.
