Konnichiwa! This semester has a whole new set of Year 7 classes joining us for Japanese! So far we have learned about some Japanese vocabulary and geography and are about to start looking at how Japanese meal times compare to our own. We also have a variety of Japanese foods to try!

Our Year 8 and 9 Japanese and music students are very lucky and on the 4th of September will have a visiting Koto performer attending the school to teach the students about Japanese instruments.

The council has also invited all our families, if they would like to learn more about the Japanese culture, to attend an evening at the Botanic Gardens.

Please see the attached brochure for more details and about how to book a spot to attend.

Upcoming Japanese Competitions:
STEM Japan Global Student Program to Hiroshima and Kyoto
High performing Year 10 students from Queensland state high schools who are currently studying Japanese will have the opportunity to embark on a 14-day program, immersing themselves in school life and exploring cultural and historical landmarks in Hiroshima and Kyoto, Japan. To find out more about the competition please visit: https://education.qld.gov.au/schools-educators/international/global-opportunities/opportunities-in-asia/opportunities-in-japan/japan-stem-student
