The Junior Environmental Committee
The Junior Environmental Committee have been busy planting and maintaining our school's vegetable garden.
This week students were able to harvest vegetables and use them to cook some delicious recipes to share amongst the group. Mrs Grayer, Mr Lilly, Bree Saltner (Youth Worker) and Scotty (Groundsman) have enjoyed guiding the students with their environmental projects this year and were impressed with the student's creativity today. Well done!
2023 National Next Gen Young Leader of the Year Award.
Deenah Quadri received the 2023 National Next Gen Young Leader of the Year Award, recognizing her exceptional leadership and dedication to creating a positive change in the local community. The award applauds her for breaking stereotypes and envisioning a more inclusive sporting community, where all individuals feel welcomed despite their religion, culture, gender or race. Notably, Deenah was also recognised for being the first hijab-wearing referee in Queensland to officiate at state championships, further showcasing her pioneering spirit in breaking barriers and promoting diversity in sports.
