Junior Secondary Update:
Since the last update, our STEM Squad has been hard at work, diving into the First Lego League's "Submerged" challenge as we received our Lego League mats late last week and “DOVE” into the challenge on Thursday afternoon, developing groups and identifying key roles. This year’s marine-themed challenge tasks students with using Lego technology to explore the depths of the ocean, constructing robots that can perform critical roles in underwater environments. It's an exciting opportunity for our students to apply their creative thinking and engineering skills to real-world scenarios, and the students are really keen to make a “SPLASH” in the competition!
In addition to tackling this challenge, a handful of our STEM Squad will soon be sharing their expertise with younger students at Kin Kora State School during Science Week this Wednesday. They’ll be showcasing hydrogen-powered cars, drones and other STEM equipment with the Kin Kora SS students and helping to inspire the next group of potential Toolooa students to explore the exciting possibilities that STEM offers in high school and beyond.
In other news we had our first Year 6 to 7 parents information night of the year. A special thank you goes to the Junior Leadership group who gave up their time and provided invaluable support both before and during the event. Your efforts in welcoming parents and ensuring everything ran smoothly truly made a difference and I am really proud of your efforts and your willingness to support Toolooa SHS!
