Term 2 has been busy for our Team.
We have been managing new timetables, as we do each Term, to try and best cover our students’ lessons so they have support in their classes. Gloria, Kacie and Karrina have been working hard to cover these lessons.
We had our Pizza party for Term 2 attendance. We didn’t get photos for this because we were all eager to get stuck into the Pizza. Our very supportive Guidance Officer Miss Jenny made a goal with the students. If their attendance met the required targets, and improved, she would put on a Pizza party for those students who achieved the goal. Well done to the students who achieved the goal. Special shout out to the 6 students who achieved 100% attendance for Term 2. In addition to the Pizza party, they received certificates of recognition and a tuck shop voucher.
Our Youth Worker, Shannae has started some small group sessions with some of our students and they are all enjoying the small group work that she presents to them each week. Shannae also helps facilitate our Tiddas class. This Term, they have been participating in the Deadly Choices DC Fit program.
I have been away on the Year 8 school camp to Carnarvon Gorge. Words cannot describe how beautiful that little piece of paradise really is. We were lucky enough to be able to yarn with Uncle Fred Conway. He has been a ranger out there for many years … and he even knew some of our students’ families.
We are busy planning for Term 4 and have also started planning for next year with some new programs being available to us. Watch this space.
